On Maundy Thursday, we gather around the table, just as Christ’s closest followers did on the night before his death. Like the disciples, we will eat and drink of the body and blood of our Lord, a foreshadowing of the sacrifice to come the next day at his crucifixion.
“This is my blood of the new covenant, which is poured out for many for the forgiveness of sins.”
